Tango Apasionado
January 9, 2025 at 7:00PM
PointeTango is a unique, “one-of-a-kind” dance company directed by choreographer and dancer, Alexander Richardson and created with lead dancer, Erin Scott-Kafadar. By pushing new boundaries in dance, PointeTango combines the intimacy of Argentine tango with the precision of classical ballet, creating a new dance vocabulary that is both intimate and bold.
Pointe-Tango emerged from the question: ‘What happens when classical ballet meets Argentine tango?’ Having trained and worked in both disciplines of classical ballet and Argentine tango extensively, Erin and Alexander challenged themselves to develop a new dance vocabulary of “pointetango” that respects the codes and connection of the Argentine tango “abrazo” (embrace) while searching for new solutions and opportunities to the challenges encountered when transitioning from heels to pointe shoes. PointeTango is the only dance company in the world to dance authentic, improvised Argentine tango on pointe shoes.

Crystal Gayle was born Brenda Gail Webb in Paintsville, KY, on January 9. Her older sister was future superstar and Grand Ole Opry member Loretta Lynn, though Loretta had already left home by the time Brenda was born. To escape constant comparison to her sister, Crystal wisely developed her own vocal and musical style. She had 20 No. 1 country singles, beginning with “I’ll Get Over You” and including her signature song, “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.” That song earned Crystal a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and also made her album We Must Believe In Magic the first by a female country artist to go platinum.
Pretty soon, Crystal was topping the charts and getting her own invitations to play the Opry. Crystal was awarded Female Vocalist of the Year in 1977 and 1978 by the Country Music Association Awards. The Academy of Country Music gave her the same award in 1976, 1977 and 1979.
Chart success continued for Crystal throughout the 1980s with hits including “Cry,” “Talking In Your Sleep,” “Why Have You Left The One You Left Me For,” “Half The Way” and her duet with Eddie Rabbitt, “You And I.”
In 2008 Crystal was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. In 2009 she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Crystal continues to perform around the world.

Abbacadabra
February 7, 2025 at 7:00PM
Raffanelli brought together a team of highly trained vocalists and internationally-known keyboardists, percussionists and bassists to recreate the sounds and sights of an ABBA show. The group’s first show was at the El Dorado Resort and Casino in Reno, but they were soon playing to sold out crowds around the country and on cruise lines such as Princess and Royal Caribbean. Fittingly, in 2007, they began performing in Europe, where ABBA first came to fame.
The group covers 20 of ABBA’s mega-hits, including “Mamma Mia,” “Dancing Queen,” “The Winner Takes it All,” and “Take a Chance on Me.” They are known for their attention to detail, from the sound to the clothing. Listening to them is like taking a step back in time, when everyone was dancing.
Tony Orlando once told Gary Raffanelli that “When you’re dreaming about your life and future, shoot for the moon, because even if you miss, you’ll still be up there among the stars.” Raffanelli took a chance and it has paid off big time, for his band, and most especially, for his audiences. You can take a chance, too.

March 7, 2025 at 7:00PM
The Kenny Rogers Band show is a world apart…
We’re not a Tribute band, we ARE THE BAND…. the band who toured with Kenny Rogers for over 40 years, and more than 50 million fans, and 5000+ shows world-wide! Our group and the tours that we have performed with Kenny over these many years, represent decades of experiences and adventures that put us in a unique category that is head and shoulders above just “some guys” who put together a Kenny Rogers sound-alike show.We give the audience an experience that they can’t get anywhere else.
Presenting the songs of Kenny Rogers, the way that he performed them, from the band who knew him best, from premiere venues such as Carnegie Hall, to Albert Hall, from Sydney Opera House to the Grand Ole’ Opry as well as the thousands of cities and venues from all over the world playing live, to well over 50 million fans in the 40+ years of touring with Kenny. In the Through the Years show, of course, you will hear all of the mega-hits from Kenny’s legendary career, but also, we present other fan favorites that only occasionally made it into the normal tour song list.
In addition, we feature a section of the show, we call the “Kenny Speed Round” … where we ask the audience to call out their favorite song that they haven’t yet heard in the show that night, and since we’ve been Kenny’s band for so long… we of course, know them all… and will do a portion of the song for the fans right then and there… this has been an “over the top” success and favorite portion of the show because the fans really feel a part of the performance… and of course it keeps us on our toes too!
