The newest (we think) addition to the entertainment scene here is a blues-based bar called Red, White & Blues located in the European Village. The entire theme here isn’t just the blues but rather owner Chris Fragette is insistent that everything to do with RW&B is American. That means no foreign beer, no foreign food and no foreign wine. Forget getting bratwurst or a French red here and a Heineken is out of the question.
So blues, being a truly unique American art form, much like jazz, is the main music being played here. The live band schedule was still being worked out as we went to press but that’s because Chris had been concentrating on getting his kitchen up and running.
August was supposed to be the month that food was going be served here so you’ll have to check with the RW&B FB page to see if they’re actually cooking already.
And even if they’re not cooking in the kitchen, when there’s a band playing the whole joint is cooking, inside and out. So you might want to check out the new kids on the block and see what all the fuss is about.
