The repairs will focus on a 20-foot section of the boardwalk that has deteriorated and requires immediate attention to ensure the safety and longevity of the trail for the many residents, visitors, and nature enthusiasts who use it daily. Parks and trails crews will replace the damaged portion with stronger, more durable materials built to withstand weather conditions over time. While the closure is scheduled for two weeks, officials are optimistic that the work may be completed sooner, weather permitting.

“We understand how popular Graham Swamp is among our residents and how important it is to keep this space accessible,” said Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation Brittany McDermott. “That’s why our dedicated parks and trails team will complete these essential repairs as efficiently and quickly as possible, prioritizing the safety of our community. We’re grateful to the parks and trails crew for their diligent inspections, hard work, and expertise, and we want to sincerely thank our residents for their patience and understanding as we improve this beloved trail.”

During the closure, the City encourages residents and visitors to plan alternative walking or biking routes. Other nearby parks and trails will remain open and available for recreational use, and a list of these locations can be found here.
